IWD- Warrnambool Film Screening
Events / Published:

Women’s Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West are delighted to invite you to attend a free film screening to celebrate International Women’s Day, this year. Join us at the Capitol Cinema in Warrnambool, on Thursday 6th March, from 6:30-8:30pm.
The theme for International’s Women’s Day 2025 is March Forward, which emphasises that progress is not just about reflection, but making decisive bold steps to turn our commitments into action for gender equality. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation as catalysts for lasting change, but we all have a responsibility and a role to play to enable change.
To celebrate this theme, we will be hosting a screening of Equal the Contest followed by a brief Q&A. The documentary follows the story of a filmmaker who joins a new local women’s football club in Regional Victoria with a simple desire to play, that becomes a complex journey of inclusion and belonging. It challenges long-standing sports traditions and becomes part of the broader movement for gender equality.
